Dr. Chastain graduated from The Medical College of Georgia over 25 years ago and chose Radiology from among all medical specialties—a decision he has never regretted. He was drawn to Radiology because of a strong interest in the diagnosis and treatment of human disease, combined with an enthusiasm for technology. Diagnostic imaging is arguably the most significant advancement in medicine over the past century, having saved countless lives and enabling physicians to quickly and non-invasively understand patients’ health problems.

Radiology has allowed him to participate in every specialty of healthcare, caring for patients across all age groups. Advances in Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) have enabled diagnostic imaging experts to reach remote areas of the world, allowing radiologists to provide care to patients who, 20 years ago, would not have had access to such services. Radiology remains a career he thoroughly enjoys practicing, and he is proud to contribute to the team of excellence at Atlantic Radiology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Chastain enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons, ages 17 and 19. He also enjoys running, exercising, and reading.
